Narrative-Based Writing for
Building Technical Credibility
Every marketing plan includes a variety of written pieces – the most obvious of which are brochures and datasheets. But those pieces simply list information; other documents create and follow a narrative. It’s that second group where I can help out. These are most commonly editorial articles, whitepapers, and technical blog posts.
Narrative-based writing requires more care when building the story to ensure that the organization and language carry your reader from beginning to end. This makes these stories different from other marketing pieces, and it takes a different set of skills to create them.
I’ve been writing narrative-based documents most of my career; I’ve been doing so on a freelance basis for well over 10 years. I’ve covered a wide range of technical topics, from low-level physics to high-level architecture and software. My experience allows me to address engineering and management considerations in a way that AI would have a hard time doing. I can also add an outsider’s view of the piece, helping to ensure that readers will understand the intricate details that are typically a part of any story.
If you are looking to raise your company’s visibility and technical credibility, narrative-based pieces can be an extremely effect part of the solution. Contact me for help writing the stories your customers want to read.
